Do’s and Don’t’s of a Photo Shoot

Last June 25, 2016, I got the chance to shoot with Mr. Denys Jan Lee of 1225 studios, and it was an absolute blast. It was my first photo shoot in a long time so I was really excited but also a bit nervous. Unlike my past shoots, I didn’t have as much time to prepare for this shoot since it was scheduled on such short notice. Nevertheless, I still tried my best to be ready for the day of my shoot.

Here’s a few do’s and don’t’s to make the best out of photo shoots: Continue reading

Summer Eve

PicsArt_08-31-12.48.50

I’m in the middle of a lake that’s covered with ice. I notice that the ice was starting to melt and it was getting pretty thin. I don’t even know how I got here. It’s like I just woke up and suddenly I was in the middle of that lake. I try to take a step but the ice cracks from the pressure, but I know I can’t just stay in place either.

I keep willing the ice to hold together, willing the cold to stay so the ice doesn’t break. I keep walking, searching for a place that’s safe, but all I see for miles and miles is the frozen lake.

I know at any moment I could fall through and drown.

Exploring Art: BGC

Bonifacio Global City Highstreet is filled with picturesque spots. The place is beautiful and surrounded with trees and art installations. When going exploring make sure you dress comfortably and weather appropriate. Wear comfy shoes because you’ll be doing a lot of walking. As for me, I went with sneakers. I always make sure an outfit is convertible. By that, I mean I should be able to adjust my outfit according to weather so that I am still comfortable. Continue reading

Exploring Art: Parkfest PH

Parkfest PH is a weekend festival in Nayong Pilipino park located beside the National Museum, featuring the fusion of local art, crafts, Filipino flavor and music with a colorful twist. This is the description on Parkfest PH‘s facebook page. This description however, pales in comparison to the experience I had when I went last May 29, 2016.

Parkfest PH aimed to revive Nayong Pilipino through showcasing the works of local artists, and it did just that last May 28-29. Nayong Pilipino, a once forgotten park, was filled with all sorts of people. People came in and bonded with their friends and family as they appreciated the art installations of the various artists, listened to music, shopped from the various crafters. This embodied the Nayong Pilipino of the past.

Bloggers United 2016

I went to Bloggers United 11 last May 28, 2016 at Green Sun, Makati. I was so excited for this bloggers bazaar that featured the country’s top fashion and beauty bloggers. It was a good way to celebrate the end of my school year. I got to shop, meet new bloggers, and meet some of my favorite bloggers. There were so many things that I loved about Bloggers United. Blogapalooza 2016: Horizons: Charting the Uncharted

I attended Blogapalooza’s Horizons last May 21, 2016 at Centris Elements. This was my first blogger event and I was so excited. I spent a lot of time figuring out what to wear (check out my outfit details here), what to bring, and what to say when interacting with the different businesses and bloggers. I made sure that the first impression I was making  was a good one, but still true to myself. Continue reading

Modelo Primero

Modeling has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl. This dream probably stemmed from my mom being a model when she was a teenager. She would tell me stories about her modeling days, how fun fashion shows were, and how she even got to keep some of the clothes and shoes she modeled. She also joined Bb. Pilipinas (Ms. Philippines), and got into the top 20. She was also in several TV commercials when she was younger.

When I was younger, I was very outgoing and confident. I lost this when I went into high school, and so I never found the confidence and motivation to further pursue modeling. Then one summer, my mom decided to enroll me in a modeling and personality development workshop. Continue reading

Dress to Express

It’s summer time in the Philippines and things are starting to heat up, which makes this the perfect time to wear a crop top. Although the weather has never actually stopped me from wearing what I want to wear before. Come to think of it, nothing has ever stopped me from wearing what I want to. Especially, not what society says. Girls and guys alike, be proud of your bodies, but know that it’s not all you have to offer. Let’s stop all forms of body shaming.
