Personally, I’ve always been in love with fashion from the past. I’ve always dug around my mom’s old closet for pieces that I can use. The comeback of 90’s fashion started in 2015, stayed strong in 2016, and now it’s 2017, and we’re all still on the 90’s train. There’s just something about their carefree, grunge, street style that we cannot get enough of. The 90’s were all about self-expression, comfort, youthfulness, and being creative with your sense of style, and I think that’s just something that we all crave for now.
As promised in my 2016: The Year of Realizing Stuff; 2017: The Year To Just Go For It post, I’m here to talk about my Makati shoot. I’ve always wanted to have an urban shoot that channeled the streets of New York City and what better place to do this than in Makati? Continue reading
For the past three or four years, I’ve made it my personal tradition to do something new with my hair in preparation for the new year. It’s become my way of saying good bye to the previous year and kind of preparing myself for the next. Now, I’ve always wanted to try short hair but I’ve always been too afraid because I’ve always had long hair. With all the things that happened this year however, I decided to just go for it and cut my hair. Continue reading
Le Grand Cirque show has always piqued my interest since I saw a commercial on TV a few months back. Last December 21, 2016, Araneta Group invited me to watch the special December 24, 2016 show, and I immediately said yes. I had very high expectations especially since this is their first ever show in the Philippines. I can without a doubt say that I was not disappointed. If you want to see a few video clips check out my Facebook page Mitzi Jonelle. Continue reading
It’s November and the weather is finally cooling down in the Philippines! This is good news for all us fashion lovers out there. We can finally start layering clothes without ending up in a sweaty mess! As seasons come and go, so do fashion trends. I tried out a few trends for the colder season that could still be worn despite living in a tropical country and I absolutely loved the results! Make sure to try out some of the looks as well and tag me on instagram or twitter so I can see them! Continue reading
Last June 25, 2016, I got the chance to shoot with Mr. Denys Jan Lee of 1225 studios, and it was an absolute blast. It was my first photo shoot in a long time so I was really excited but also a bit nervous. Unlike my past shoots, I didn’t have as much time to prepare for this shoot since it was scheduled on such short notice. Nevertheless, I still tried my best to be ready for the day of my shoot.
Here’s a few do’s and don’t’s to make the best out of photo shoots: Continue reading
According to their page, Styles and Bites is a “festival of finely curated flavors and fanciful finds for the metro’s pleasure-seeking foodies and shoppers.” Anyone who knows me knows that fashion and food are at the top of the things I love. Naturally, when I was asked by Manila Bazaars to go to the Styles and Bites bazaar last July 2, 2016, I said yes. For only a fee of Php 100, Styles and Bites can be “your urban escape to all things food and fashion.”
The Calaguas Islands can be found in the province of Camarines Norte. Its white beaches and crystal blue waters can rival the bigger and more popular beaches of the Philippines. Our adventure happened on Tinaga island, one of the two major islands. Mahabang Buhangin beach is a virgin beach that has the advantage of it not being overcrowded and how staying here is a lot cheaper. There are plenty of activities to do on the island to get away from the toxicity of the city.
Bolinao is a municipality located at the northernmost tip of the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. If you’re looking for a vacation spot that isn’t as crowded as the more popular beaches, and you don’t want to sacrifice the white sand and the clear waters, Bolinao is the place for you.
Bonifacio Global City Highstreet is filled with picturesque spots. The place is beautiful and surrounded with trees and art installations. When going exploring make sure you dress comfortably and weather appropriate. Wear comfy shoes because you’ll be doing a lot of walking. As for me, I went with sneakers. I always make sure an outfit is convertible. By that, I mean I should be able to adjust my outfit according to weather so that I am still comfortable. Continue reading
