Galentine’s day is celebrated every year on February 13, just before Valentine’s day. This is the day dedicated to all your best girls, the time to forget about boys and just focus on yourself and on your friends. It’s when ladies celebrate ladies, and just empower each other and have fun together. Here are a few ways you can spend Galentine’s day with your number one girls.
1. Eat Out
It can be as simple as meeting up and enjoying a nice meal together as you catch up on each others’ lives. What can be better than being surrounded by your favorite girls and food? A personal favorite of ours would be to meet up for brunch and have sushi!
2. Hang Out At The Mall
There are a lot of things to do at the mall. You could go shopping with your best friends. You could go to an arcade like Timezone, and enjoy and be silly in their photo booth. Simple dates like these are such huge stress relievers for me.
3. Sleepover at Each Others’ Houses
Of course nothing is going to beat the classic slumber party. Whether you’re just hanging out, or having a movie marathon, or putting on face masks, there’s just something special about sleeping over at each others’ houses.
4. Ice Skate
If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you could try out a new sport like ice skating! It’s the perfect sport to try out with your friends especially in the Philippines’ tropical weather. Skating with friends, trying to balance, and just laughing and having fun as you all try to skate around the rink is definitely a thrilling experience.
5. Watch a Broadway Show
If it’s in the budget and you’re a fan of broadway, like I am, go ahead and try to watch a broadway show with your best friends! It’s such an enriching experience, and it’s definitely something you guys can bond about.
6. Camp Out Somewhere
If you want to go on an adventure with your friends, this could be the one for you. There’s just something about being in the great outdoors with your best friends. You can hang out and roast marshmallows by the bonfire, you can go hiking, or even just hang out and talk while swinging in hammocks. It’s not only peaceful, and retreat like, you’ll also come back from it more responsible and experienced.
7. Dress up And Have a Photo Shoot
This may be one of my favorite things to do with my best friends. I love it when we put make up on each other, paint our nails together, and fix each others’ hair. The photo shoot after is so that we can flaunt ourselves and feel empowered. I find this process very empowering because it’s all about encouraging each other and helping each other feel more confident and beautiful.
8. Go To a Museum
Museums, next to libraries, are my go-to-happy place. Appreciating art and culture with your best friends is a bonding experience that will leave you happier and more at peace. It’s like therapy roaming around a museum in silence with people who you are comfortable with.
9. Enjoy a Good View By The Poolside
Chilling by the poolside with your puppies and best friends is extremely relaxing. It’s the type of date that leaves you with a happy heart. Have a bottle of beer and some barbecue, and you’re good to go.
10. Go To The Beach Together
If you have more time and want to go on a road trip with your best friends, go to a beach together! There are so many beautiful and affordable beaches near Manila that this isn’t even a hard trip to plan. Having your best friends with you, salt in the air, and sand in your hair, sounds pretty perfect to me.
If you and your best friends can’t figure out what to do, you can check out Eventbrite to look for events you could enjoy together. Alternately, you can also use Eventbrite to plan your big and small events so it’s easier to keep track who can and can’t go. We would never have been able to go to a lot of events and shows that my best friends and I have gone to if it weren’t for Eventbrite.
In the end though, it doesn’t really matter what you do or where you are, as long as you’re with your best friends, you’ll surely have an amazing time. Make sure to dedicate your February 13 to your best friends because they deserve it, and it’ll be great for you too.
